RoWorld Buildings Guide: Capacity, Income and Defense

Last updated 2026-10-26Unofficial player article

Quick answer

  • Cities address troop capacity; factories and ports support gold income.
  • Defense Posts resist border attacks, while SAM Launchers intercept missiles.
  • Missile Silos add nuclear launch access rather than general economic development.

Capacity and income are different jobs

RoWorld construction begins with a useful distinction: a city gives your army more capacity, while a factory supports gold through train trade. Ports also generate gold through trade ships and allow warship construction.

RoWorld Buildings Guide GameplayChoose construction by the job your nation needs next.

A bigger budget and a bigger troop cap help in different ways.

Name the constraint you want to address before choosing a building. If the next goal is overseas, the port's naval role may matter alongside income. If you need army room, an income building does not replace the city decision.

Use the defense that matches the threat

Defense Posts make borders harder to take. SAM Launchers can intercept incoming missiles. These are separate defensive roles, so do not treat one as a universal replacement for the other.

A contested land approach calls for a different plan from protecting important infrastructure against nuclear attacks. Keep the actual threat visible while spending, and avoid concentrating every defensive decision around a part of the nation that is no longer under pressure.

Add strategic weapons for an actual objective

Missile Silos provide nuclear launch access. Their offensive role matters later, but it does not automatically outrank the capacity and income supporting the rest of your campaign. Choose a nuclear plan with a target and a reason to follow up.
